About Mahalaxmi Nishane

The pilgrimage started and at the end of 21st day they were on the border of Nishane and Pimpale. Goddess Mahalakshmi stopped and reside since then at this place where the temple is situated currently. The auspicious day was Magh Shudhha Trayodashi as per Hindu calendar. The temple has idol of Mahalakshmi and idol of ganesh at her left. The unique feature of Mahalakshmi idol is that there two more goddess carved in the same idol. Goddess Mahakali on left & Goddess MahaSaraswati on right side of main idol. There are many big trees like Audamber, Banyan, Neem are thee surrounding the temple.The east facing temple was a very small initially. However the bigger temple was built very recently by Mandir trust with the help of the charities from devotees. The new temple is similar as that of Mahalakshmi temple in Kolhapur. Just next to main temple there are small temples of Nagnath, RevanNath and Adbhangnath.

Major festivals celebrated in Temple during Navratri, on Magh Shudhha Trayodashi, Thursdays of Margashirsha month per Hindu calendar. But the main festival is on Magh Shudhha Trayodashi. A fair is held on this occasion. Hundreds of devotees visit the temple on this auspicious day.

The Nishane is 17 KMs from Erandol which is situated on the National Highway 6, which connects Mumbai and Nagpur, links Erandol with Dhule to the west and Jalgaon to the east. One can reach the Mahalakshmi temple at Nishane by directly hiring an Auto rickshaw from Erandol or by state transport bus from Erandol to Dharangaon (which is just 7 KMs from Nishane) and then by hiring an Auto rickshaw. Nearest Railway station is at Dharangaon. Lodging and boarding is not available near temple site.
